New Louisville police chief officially sworn in Monday

How is that different than hiring retired folks (who aren't necessarily "old") who want to maintain their LE status but not want to work full-time? Require them to work a minimum of say, 15 hours a week, to maintain some experience levels? I wasn't thinking hiring fresh folks part-time, but experienced folks who just want to keep their hand in with LE while doing possibly other things. Hiring folks who work full-time for other agencies is a legal nightmare - you would have to contract with the other agency.

After all, that is essentially what the Sheriff's Office is doing.
