I agree with firing the Sgt.. And if the use our position for personal gain will get the rank and file fired then that Sgt. should also.

A person may not have any money, but you can keep them from having any money also, EVER.

You might want to check the policy for what the fund will actually cover.

We need to start filling small claims against people who file BS complaints against us as Officers. The FOP could collect the files of all PSU investigations through the open records act on a daily basis like the communist journal does. If the complaint says you were rude used the n word etc on a traffic stop and the video shows other wise its a slam dunk. I have heard that the Cincinnati FOP files libel/slander suits against anyone who files a false complaint against an Officer. They take them to small claims court to avoid the legal fees associated with going through Circuit Court. This also limits the damages allowed. That is a non starter since you aren't going to get blood from a turnip or money from a lowlife. Any money that is collected ( not sure what Cincy does) should be split between the FOP if they file on our behalf and the Officer. This would build a fund for the fees associated with larger issues such as this article. I have been told there is a group of Deputies in the Sheriff's Department that can seize property from a person that has a judgment against them. They see you, identify you, verify the order then are able to confiscate any property of value you have on the spot to go against the damages awarded. Imagine if a court ruled on an Officer's behalf, awarded damages but the person cried poor man or refused to pay, think OJ Simpson. A week later a court order shows up in the hands of a Deputy Sheriff and the person who filed a BS complaint has his ring, watch, necklace taken and a receipt is handed to them for the value and subtracted from his bill. Think that would stop a lot of the BS complaints?
