Sgt. Lewis is with Public Integrity, not Professional Standards (internal affairs.) Sgt. Lewis in normally very pro officer and professional. Court room testimony brought out a lot of troubling information. Including that a complaint was filed against Lewis with PSU in connection with this investigation and that the administration knew that Sgt. Lewis might be using his authority to go after the defendent sergeant for personal reasons. Lt. Headache unfounded the complaint even though during the trial, on the stand under oath, she admitted that Lewis had committed the violations he was accussed of. No action was ever taken against Lewis by the administration.

Again we can see that the current adminstration won't follow it's own rules. That's why people we don't want or need in police work keep getting their jobs back and the Metro Government will continue to have to pay off those who's rights have been violated. Very sad statement about the team Greg Fischer decided to keep to "lead" the police department.

I agree with this particular lawsuit. And honestly, as many times as officers get sued or complained on, we need to start initiating our own lawsuits ANYTIME we are run through the dirt and then acquitted. I pay for a legal fund as many of us do, we might as well use it. Doesn't matter if the defendant doesn't have money, we can cause them just as much hardship as the community feels cops deserve. Only maybe then, the lawsuits against us might curb. And for using his position of authority for personal gain, Lewis needs to be canned. Thanks for making us look bad again you a$$mon key.

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Louisville Metro Police have confirmed that an officer still in her probationary period was arrested after an incident at a bar Friday night.

Louisville Metro Dept. of Corrections records show an LMPD officer arrested 24-year-old Lauren Fanning on charges of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, assault 3rd degree on a police officer, assault 4th degree (minor injury) and alcohol intoxication in a public place. Fanning was released on her own recognizance Saturday morning, and is due to return to court Monday.

LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell says Fanning's arrest happened after a fight outside Molly Malone's Irish Pub & Restaurant. According to Mitchell, Fanning, who is still on the probationary period with the department, was hired in 2009. Mitchell did not know the name of the LMPD officer that arrested Fanning.

Mitchell says Fanning has been placed on paid administrative leave, standard procedure for LMPD, until the case is resolved.

WAVE 3 contacted both Molly Malone locations, and owners were not aware of an incident inside their establishments.

Let me first start by saying, it is young and egotistical officers like Fanning who is screwing us this department and giving us a bad name. She is a true piece of $hit for acting that way in public. To all you stupid new POs, keep your dumb a$$ out of bars at least until your off probation if your incapable of behaving. I have some POs on the platoon who will get hurt due to their arrogance and pride. We are suppose to be mature. Thanks. Even her picture repulses me...just fire her and find someone who will take our career seriously.

There is a vast difference between P.I.U. and the Policy Police. Lewish should be ashamed of himself for using the tactics of the Profanity Suppression Unit when investigating a criminal case. Now we have to worry about P.I.U fabricating charges on officers.
