FOP and Metro Government at odds over take home police cars

Quit the rookie bashing please....when you don't have a take home car yet, and can't work off duty or in some cases, don't want to have to work an extra shift of off duty, going to court as much as possible is the best way to supplement your pay..in order to do that you have to be proactive and make arrests and write tickets. It doesn't mean you support the system, or have some agenda to get ahead. Some people are still on probabtion, and therefore can't afford to be political by, for example refusing to do anything except make runs. At the end of the day, we still have to be here for 8 (or in some cases 10) hours a day, its miserable enough without making life worse by having your supervisors come down on you for not working. (and no, I'm not a rookie, I've been on several years, I just know that all of us were new at some point, and all of us are in the same position now..)
