No, real police work is just doing what needs to be done. I would much rather safe a life by locking up a DUI that make a pocs, tics, or heaven forbid a pom (you do know that's a $25 fine, don't you). Real police work is doing the boring drudgery that the citizens need us to do rather than grandstanding and only looking for a certain type of case. Real police take the reports, write the citations, stop the cars, talk to the kids, make the burglar alarms and do all of that less-than-glorious stuff. What was it that got Timothy McVeigh's arse in the pokey again???? How was David Berkowitz caught again???? Oh, yeah, that was routine and boring enforcement activities. How many traffic fatalities have we had this year? Still think it ain't worth it?
