LMPD investigates shooting by off-duty officer

My thoughts exactly. Officers should contact everyone they stop as if they could have a weapon anyway. I'm more concerned with weapons found in the course of a search or arrest than I am a citizen who has a CCDW or is open carrying and advises the officer.

You don't think police officers are loosing any sleep over this issue do you? Most people in the general public are horrified of guns anyway. As an officer, I care about someone carrying a gun openly as I do the price of lettuce in Costa Rica. You have a warped view of police officers which can probably be traced back to your own feelings of inferiority.
