I hope this does not pertain to you but a lot of the "young pups" think they know it all because they are here. They really don't want to here from the senior officers who been there done that. It is a plain as that. It used to be that the senior officer on the beat was the person you went to with a question or when you were not clear on something. Now they go directly to the Sgt with questions that make them look like they need to go back to square one. If the young pups would stop with that attitude that they are owed something for being here it they might hear the advice from the older officers. that is how it worked prior to merger but all has changed.

With six months of training, they should already know the basics of report writing. But as someone who regularly has to read documents written by LMPD (and other) officers, PLEASE learn how to spell and write at least a comprehensible sentence. I pray some of the cases I deal with never go before a jury - the reports are just that bad. I'm not talking John Grisham writing, just a decent, comprehensible sentence.
