A 34-year-old Louisville man is facing serious charges after two police officers say he tried to kill them.
According to an arrest report, police spotted Darrell Jewell Friday night near Portland in a well-known drug area. When police started to approach him, Jewell ran away and the officers gave chase. The report states that is when Jewell pulled out a gun and shot at the officers.
Jewell was eventually arrested and charged with two counts of attempted murder.
The officers were not hurt.
