A University of Louisville football player was arrested Sunday on several charges, including assault of a police officer, LMPD officials confirm.
Redshirt sophomore safety Terrence Ross was arrested on South Third Street just before 2 a.m. Sunday.
He was charged with disorderly conduct, possession of marijuana and 3rd degree assault of a police officer.
He posted $1,000 bond, but is expected in court on Wednesday.
U of L Athletics assistant SID released this statement Sunday night:
"The football program is aware of the situation and is continuing to gather information. Terrence Ross has been suspended and the matter will continue to be evaluated."
Ross returned two kickoffs for 28 yards in the Cards' Belk Bowl loss to Georgia, but did not play in the majority of the team's games this season.
