Haha. So are you trying to say that technology is bad? Those snazzy little computers are pretty good tools. I'm one of those "new generations" of police officers that you speak of. It is possible that the poster that mentioned the ability to wear Class C uniforms was one of "us", but there really was no indication that he/she is not like "you all". Not sure why that is reason to diss the new guys, but to each their own. I would agree that my generation of officers lacks a lot in many areas, especially when it comes to riding a beat, but I fail to see how using the tools provided to us is a negative. That's like criticizing those new fancy automatic pistols, because they aren't 6 shooters, or crown vics because they aren't horses. As technology advances, so should we. The criminals are using every resource available to them, it would be foolish for us not to.

Instead of attacking, become another indispensable tool for the "new generation". Teach us how to ride a beat and forge useful relationships with the people and resources on our beat. I know that I personally would love to have an experienced officer take me under their wing and show me how to improve as an officer.

So, what are you doing to provide a solution?
