10 grand for two days? For something SPI and DOCJT both offer for free? Sounds like a Bob White special to me.

It's really $10,000 for 2 days?

The minority community isn't complaining about diversity problems. They're complaining about violent crime. If you're going to spend $10,000, bring in some trainers who can teach officers and prosecutors how to prepare cases so violent offenders don't just get a slap on the wrists. Louisville's revolving door justice system just makes lawyers rich.

How about 10k in overtime to put more officers on in the west end? The training being put on is offered for FREE by the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training. Their Leadership Development courses are top notch. Oh wait, nobody there went to SPI. Maybe the good California Captain went to SPI or maybe she's part of NOBLE or PERF. Until the department breaks free from SPI and their experiments, the citizens of Metro Louisville will continue to suffer from high violent crime rates. If the Mayor and Chief don't like the true crime rates, ignor them or just say something like, there is no way to tell what the real crime rate was before merger because of the way the records were kept.

How did Andrea Brown get in that class? No amount of money could help her. Promoted and they have to create a position for her because nobody would let her work in their division. She will screw up a position that is nothing and has no responsibility before it is over. Best example of a promotional process gone wrong.

Just a really wild thought here:

Rather than immediately dismiss this person as an overpaid, ego-centrist that will only waste money, why not actually listen to what the person has to say and be open to possible ideas?

You're always entitled to your own ideas, and I'm not saying that this person's ideas will be a "quick fix," or even 100% applicable. But why so pessimistic? I'm open to at least hear some ideas. Maybe some might be worth thinking about or implementing.

TOO MANY COMMAND IN LMPD

May 23rd, 2012 @ 2:22PM (12 years ago)

We have way too many CO's in lmpd. Way too many Sgt's (three to a platoon) admin Lt's are basically a high paid secretary, so many colonel's and Lt.Colonels I lost count. Mayor if you wanna save $$$$ cut back on the command staff. Good greif Chief Conrad wears a Sigle General Star on his collar because of all the promotions by R.White.

SUMMER UNIFORMS?

May 24th, 2012 @ 1:24PM (12 years ago)

Is any division authorized to wear the summer uniform yet for HOT temps? Polos would be nice for hot summer weather.Wish the entire dept would put in policy when the temp reaches 85 or above the class C is permitted instead of up to each division commander.

Leadership and Integrity Instructor

May 24th, 2012 @ 9:16PM (12 years ago)

So if you need someone to teach you Leadership and Integrity then it would reason that no one on LMPD is a Leader or has Integrity. That should be a hint to the mayor stop forcing the new chief to keep your "folks" around. The lack of true "Policing and Enforcement" has created the probelem in the west end. Bob and his hand picked crew has let them run wild for 8 years and to quote something Bob can relate to..."The chickens have come home to roost!"

Leadership and integrity is a joke at LMPD. When we have a Sgt who has been told he is being moved from his current position for not doing his job and has been able to say where he wants to go. When the person who is going to replace him has to be a minority OFFICER (no sgt & whites need not apply) by order of a certain Col in the front office. This place is not about how you do your job but who you are and who has your back. Nothing has changed and (although I am still hoping it does) I see nothing changing in the future.
