Look that one up also. He didn't jump out of the way. He pushed a citizen out of harms way, this action, of thinking of another first in a situation where both could have died, resulted in his being seriously injured and could have cost him his life. He didn't jump out of the way as is a basic survival instinct. This action merited his being awarded the medal.

I agree that there are many who do not get recognized for actions performed daily. If you want examples just look at the video from the other day, how many officers ran towards the shots? How many feel that they were doing their jobs and don't want anything more than the satisfaction of having done their job. Oh and by the way, yes I think that their actions were worth noting and recognizing.
