Thats because most of us are smart enough to leave the street before the burnout sets in and gets into a police job/unit or specific

crime we enjoy investigating.....Dont hate because no one wants you...

I love the 10 hour shifts, but they come at a cost.

The problem with 10s and 12's that manpower will always become a greater issue. Same # of bodies, spread out over a greater time gap.

8 hour shifts give more bodies on a platoon, which mean more availability for people to take time off, attend training and all the other bs we have to do.

I am not a boss here, but before I was an officer I ran scheduling for a business and these are the same issues that would be reoccurring in that industry as well.
