Thank you Mayor Fischer. Not my first choice, but as many of you know it could have been much much worse.

Back to the old city ways. Is J-town , St.Matthews hiring? We re going backwards.

We rehired RCW, yes! This well oiled machine keeps running smoothly.

So how long until we turn in are cars, and abandon the take home vehicle program.

Give the guy a chance. He was under the gun with Crump. Maybe he will help turn things around. The guys in Glendale I spoke with didn't down him either.

If he doesn't make it better..... sure, CRUCIFY HIM. But, give him a chance first. (sure as hell can't be worse).

I have no idea what I did to get into the dog house with the front office but please do something about them holding grudges and blacklisting officers from advancing into other areas of the department. This has been going on way TOO long and those currently in charge hold too many peoples careers in their hands. If they don't like you, you are screwed.

Plus ca change, plus c'est la meme chose. (The more things change, the more they stay the same.) It was nice to dream of a department that cared for it's officers. I did have a little respect for fischer too. Get the lube back out.

First, let me say that although I would have rather seen Chief Sanders hired, I am (or was) a Conrad supporter. I've know him since before he was first hired by LPD. I've worked with him over the years from when he was a patrolman up to assistant chief. He has always been upfront and a likable guy. But I just watched the livestream of the press conference on the Courier-Journal web page. The first thing he did was to thank Chief White for a great job he did here and called him his mentor. The second thing he said was he had already spoke to the command staff (Yvette) and he asked them to stay in their current position. SO, as much as I would love to say give him a chance, he'll be great, do a good job, etc, it looks like the same old dog and pony show to me.

Is the department slogan going to stay "Smoke & Mirrors" or will it be changed to "Mirrors & Smoke" ?

I can pull a rabbit out of my hat, but that don't mean I should have my own show.

Let's bring back the old city policies. It was so much easier to do your job. AIR Forms will go back to the one page "blue form" and people that are batsh!t crazy will be called "blue book" again.

All I can do is speak of my experience with Steve Conrad. I believe he will do things his way, not the old way, based on what he thinks is right for Louisville. RCS did give him the opportunity to help lead the newly merged department and I'm sure Conrad is grateful, just as Chiefs in the past allowed him to serve as a Major. He is experienced, knowledgeable and has integrity. Conrad, Sanders and Robison were all good choices. Give Chief Conrad a chance and remain supportive of your community.

Im not the one who usually post this, but I hope Chief Conrad agrees to take Lateral Officers.... Get trained officers on the street fast!

I am just someone from the outside looking in but what I get from your comments is that some of you just want to gripe about everything. Your department will never come together and be what a police department should be. Give the man a chance and see what he can do. If he dosen't then do something about it. In other words quit being a bunch of cry babies. Remember you are the one out in the public view, so give the public a better image of the police department. Just my opinion. Be safe!

It will probably be the same old dog and pony show as it is now. Chief I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that you will be your own man and not a clone of RCW. The officers will be continue to do their job and will be watching as you take hold of the reins. If you keep the MESS that is in power downtown then your legacy will be in the toilet with Whites. So you have a chance to clean it up, we will be watching to see if you are your own man or a clone of RCW. IT'S UP TO YOU NOW.

I for one am glad he was chosen and hope he has only gained experience in his departure.

How childish and unprofessional Gentry looked at the press conference. Sulking in her chair, partially covering her face. Chief Conrad said the right things politically. You don't come in throwing daggers. You give your upper command time to go find homes. Gentry cannot even retire yet, so she should eat her humble pie and quit raising hades at compstat. She quickly forgets where she came from. "Do as I say, not as I do", from the RCW school of horrible management.

Let's hope Chief Conrad can right the ship at LMPD.

I hope CHIEF Conrad looks at this pic and sees what you thinks of him as CHIEF. Clean out that mess downtown and get this dept back on its feet. Grudge holding I'm better than you even though I've done nothing in my career attitudes need to be got rid of and the sooner the better. Make yourself a Chief that you rank and file will repect you for. You have a chance to make this dept one of the BEST. Just do it.

One thing for sure, I'm glad so there is a good chance the department will go back to the real police days. All this high tech garb is really becoming burdensome and taking all the real fun out of being a police officers. We are not even need computer are cars else more anymore too. It's a shame we drive cars like Battle Ship Glatatica with stuff all in middle you can't even stretch your knees out comfrotablley. Hooray for Conrad, is the chief for the new days of the department for the time we live in today is the good.

Just to thank I was really going to retire. I think I plan to put that idea on hold since there is now a glammer of hope in the near future of police depratment.. In all honesty Conrad is a great guy and will work hard for the troops. I am going to give it a 100% now in backing this Brother that is bringing back the brotherhood in are professional.

So just so we know....Shain and Cain (Former LPD) and Summers (Louisville Deputy Mayor) pick new chief who is....former LPD. Shocking! Glad the tax payers paid for Cain to go to Arizona to do something that falls outside of his job description.

I got information from a very reliable sourse that Chief Conrad will eliminate Mounted Patrol and Crimes Agaisnt Seniors. Also there is some talk about doing away with 10 hour shifts for beat cars. Well, I''m not spreading a rumor, this is just what a buddy of mine who works real close to the front office has said is coming down the pipe line. Stay tuned...

Everybody is worried about Chief Conrad doing away with the take home car programs. Well, mark my word, the take home program is on borrowed time. Conrad makes no secret of his dislike of the program. I have been right before and I will say it first here, in a year there will be no take home cars for anyone below the rank on LT. Don't beleive me? Stick around for a year and I can say, "Told you so".....

I was in court today, everybody saying they are going to start back up with the two man car program for officer safety! This means if you ride the beat you will have a permanant partner on your beat everyday. I dont know how they can do it when we are short already but the person I was talking knows what they are talking about...trust CardRocker on this on. It is coming.

I got a Canadian coin back from Speedway today. Although it is only a quarter, I am mad about it. This is further evidence our country is being taken over by illegal immagrants. I say we take our country back from anyone who does not have Caucasinisnann bloood. NOW!!!!

Louisville has always been 25 years behind in the police dept. Probably many more years behind of depts our size... It's 2012 and every marked car still don't have MDT'S... Depts our size had them in the 80's.... we should catch up in 2025.... We are not even prepared to habdle 25 protesters...The Officers, no fault if their own were lost, ill prepared which is typical of LMPD.

Everybody suck it up and see what the new Chief is going to do. His rep is much better than RCW's was when he came in. Wait and see.

This is the same Steve Conrad who told another CO in the Chief's office before he left for Glendale, get away from this place. I guess he forgets how bad things were and were going to be when he left. Robert C. White just simply sucked the life out of LMPD. The man absolutely sucks as a CO and a manager.
