Sixteen apply for Louisville police chief's post

16 Applicants for a Chiefs job in a city with 1200 officers that pays probably $150K a year??? That's pretty sad number! When you put in the job posting that someone with Louisville / Jefferson County experience is preferred you are likely to reduce your number of applicants. That's exactly what they did. You're telling outside applicants not to waste their time. I read somewhere the city was disappointed more people didn't apply. What do you expect? And it take four months to do the search and 50K to SPI for a web page and grade a few papers. It is possibility city!
