Then your friend obviously doesn't work for the Glendale, AZ PD. Also, the citizens would see what the benefit was in about 10 seconds if the LMPD take home car policy were abolished. No one would ever see the police. On any given day after 3:00pm very, very few of our 1200 officers are working. Most police vehicles seen by the public are driven by officers NOT on duty. That would cease. The idea of "no police presence" would set in immediately and the criminals would notice too.
