Obviously, you were commenting on something you had no direct experience with and didn't know what the **** you were talking about. It is a serious matter when someone even hints at not backing another officer up, so yes, its as big a deal as its supposed to be. This "ain't" no game out here. He wrote their kids or wives a ticket???? Whine. I bet they'd be the same ones complaining if a speeder hit and hurt or killed their kids and wives. Give me a break.

They can't get a subpoena for your IP address. That is as ignorant statement as not saying someone wouldn't back up a fellow officer. There has to be an actual crime take place in order to get a subpoena....not just because someone doesn't like that someone used free speech and said something offensive.
