Terry Meiners found not guilty in speeding case; officer threatens defamation lawsuit

This is gonna get ugly. From both sides.

FACTS:

1. Sam is not well liked by fellow officers, but like him or not at least you can say "all are treated with equal disrespect"

2. Terry Meiner's is a popular and well liked radio personality.

CONCLUSION:

Sam is more than likely "Right", but will be made "Wrong"

Celebrities, local or national, will never be found guilty of anything in this country. Regardless of facts. You may not like Sam, but he isn't a liar.

I concur. Cromity may often act like a jerk, but he is an honest jerk that treats everyone equally. If Sam says that he was speeding: he WAS SPEEDING. I believe Cromity all the way to the bank on this one. Is anyone actually surprised at liberal juries around here?!? What did you think was gonna happen? And screw Meiners anyway - you want a trial - fine. You don't bad mouth people publicly and make crap up. That's wrong

I always liked Terry Meiners until this. What an arrogant S O B. I know a lot of folks dont like Sam but in my experience he is just a strict and to the point kind of guy. He writes everyone he pulls over which is what they are supposed to do. Its not like the guy ever gets rude and curses anyone. The only reason I can think that he isnt liked is because he doesn't pull tickets....so what.

The fact thet Meiners approached him at his work place and then directly spoke to him during the trail is absurd. That just shows his hidden arrogance. **** Meiners and WHAS for this. He should not have been allowed to use the radio show for his personal rants against Sam.

SUE THE HECK OUT of both Meiners and WHAS for allowing this Sam. Good Luck.

Also...IM not surprised by the acquittal either. Judges in Jeff Co. suck! They always throw out our cases and can never give a good reason for doing so and in some cases (MINE) refuse to give you an answer.

Wow....you people call Sam a jerk because he does his job..you all amaze me....Sam has always been nice to me and when I was not the police, Sam pulled me over, joked with me and did NOT write me a ticket...... Sam is not a liar either....

Sam pulled me over in my unmarked police car on the Watterson about six months ago. I was in the second lane from the left and he was sitting on the left side of the road (fast lane between us). Another car was in the fast lane and drove between us both at a much higher rate of speed than I was going. Sam pulled me over and not the other car (even though I was in a LMPD car with the lights etc on the rear). Said he didn't see the other car because he was on his phone. Kept saying it was me speeding, I was literally screaming at him before he let me go, but I could tell he was ready to write me a bad ticket. If he treated me like that, I'm sure he does it more than anyone on here would like to admit. And when he retires and I ever catch him speeding, I'll show him what professional courtesy is and let him off with a warning, which is more than he was going to do for me.

We were not there, but I would like to think that Sam has been in Traffic long enough to know how to do his job and will give him the benefit of the doubt. That being said, there apparently were enough issues with this encounter to foster doubt within the jury - it happens, part of the job.

But regardless of whether or not Terry Meiners believed he was guilty, the appropriate venue for arguing his case is in court (like everyone else cited for speeding) - NOT ON THE AIR. He abused his position as a media personality and used that medium to bad mouth Sam in front of potentially hundreds of thousands of people in the entire Eastern half of the country (WHAS is a clear channel station meaning that it broadcasts at 50K watts and no other station can use that channel). That was a personal attack on Sam no matter how you put it and for that he is wrong.

Two sides to every story. Although I dont care for Terry Meiners he just exercised his right to a trial. Sam, he really needs to get back to down to reality and realize he is an officer just like the others on this dept. I have never wrote an officer a citation, nor would I. I've even heard Sam has issued officer's a courtesy notice. LOL. I'm sure he speeds, dont complain about him just get your radar out and watch for him. It's truly a shame that this DEPT has come to this. Cop against Cop. That is such B.S.

Cromity wrote me a ticket for illegal tinting on my moped. it doesn't even have windows!!! and he wrote my brother "doofus" for speeding in the wheel barrow. heck, i can't even push him that fast with my wooden foot and all.

I am all for free speech, and having a place for some of us to vent.

Is there anyway to clean this site up? It has gotten out of hand. If the site owner and/or admin care about how this is going, is there anyway to change the way this has gone.
