Former LMPD detective gets backup during appeal for her job |
RE: Former LMPD detective gets backup during appeal for her job
When you promote people to Command who've never run a successful complex investigation in their career, you get screwed up Detective units. The blind leading the blind.

One problem we have is letting rookies ( 3 yrs ) train rookies . You really dont know how to police until youve been on 3 yrs. Special units are the same NO one should be in a special unit until you have been a partol officer fro 5 yrs. Patrol is were its at No one in any unit can do anything unless Patrol starts the investation. The PTO program is also a long drawn out goat scr#w...way to much paper work , and they dont take the PTO's advice if someone just cant cut the mustard we just keep them on.........BUT I LOVE MY JOB

Why is it, when I question training, I am told - LMPD's training is the best in the state? When it goes to court, or deposition, can the city demonstrate that it has a training program for, say, suspect ID, and that CM went through it? I don't think so .... And given that LPD paid out almost 4 million in a single case involving suspect ID, it isn't like they didn't know it was a problem.

Wow, congratulating Pete and Steve. I have lost a lot of respect for them both, and she deserved to be fired. Green has to cover himself of course.
