Crystal Marlowe wants her job back

Just another screwup wanting their job back. I hope the merit board isn't stupid a gives her job back.

I hate to say it, but she will probably get her job back and it will be the fault of the department. If indeed they asked questions about her sexuality and other improper questions then they have violated her rights and any information obtained while it is valid, it is tainted and therefore inadmissible.

Do I believe Crystal should get he job back? No. I think she was in way over her head and was "solving" cases in order to produce numbers. There was no oversight in place and she never should have been there in the first place. The numbers game played by LMPD will continue to come back and haunt them. Pressuring people with an "unofficial" quota system is going to come crashing down around their heads one day.

Crystal learned from the leaders of this department that if something doesn't fit you can change it around to make it look more palatable. Unfortunately for the people involved that were arrested on charges that the only evidence was the notoriously ineffective photo pack, they got caught up in it in the worst kind of way. I am sure a third of them were truly innocent people and the other two thirds were guilty of a lot of things they were never charged with, but that still doesn't make it right. It is never worth putting your integrity or that of the department on the line in order to affect an arrest. They will get paid in a settlement and the taxpayers will lose.

I am sick and tired of the 99.9% of good officers taking a beating over what the one or two bad apples do. I am sick of incompetent PSU investigators that took a test and got promoted but are otherwise unqualified to conduct any type of investigation. Seriously, how many times in the past several years have we seen these sloppy investigations form PSU and PIU result in bold headlines on the news and in the paper and the end result is because of the crappy investigation some attorney finds a loophole and they get their jobs back.

Do you damn jobs right the first time. Good Officers and Detectives make arrests everyday based on facts and evidence. They dot their "I's" and cross their "T's" and criminals go to jail/prison. Apparently the department heads don't hold themselves to the dame standards which results in these people getting their jobs back.
