Gene Fye should have been fired and charged. You don't run a red light (no emergency equipment on) at a high rate of speed (wasn't he going 90 mph)and kill someone. How much did the City pay out in that one? Once again, speed was a major factor in this wreck along with drinking. Just becasue a "witness" has a suspended license or was arrested, doesn't mean he or she is not telling the truth. In fact, doesn't the black box back their story? Didn't the officer even admit that he thought the speed limit was 55 and he was going faster than that? If he was going the speed limit (or not 35 mph OVER the limit) this drunk girl would not have been killed. At lease Fye was working and responding to a run, this detective was off duty, going to a part time job (that he was late for). YOU need to get over it and remember you (or any other officer) are not God and can not do what you want. You have to follow the laws just like every normal person.
