The "witness" you are quoting had a suspended license as did her boyfriend who was driving. I was told that the boyfriend was arrested a couple of days later. They had plenty of reasons to hate the police. I doubt they will be any good on the stand. A jury will also not be able to ignore the acceleration reports on the black box. In addition, the parents will be made to look like crap for letting a drunk on the road. I doubt this one will go to trial. Gene Fye is still on the force and is apparently doing better than ever. In a few years, no one will remember the name of the people involved in this wreck either. Accidents happen everyday, people die everyday. It is time to put this wreck to rest. Ms Bearden made some very poor choices that night and unfortunately it lead to her death. She could just as easily have killed someone. Officer Adams was released from any criminal charges by the grand jury who heard him speak. That is enough for me. Get over it and move on. This story has been so twisted by the media. The vast majority of the department is behind him.
