Sorry expect to write a check! The Officer received a 30 day suspension meaning he was WRONG for his actions! The vehicle belongs to the City of Louisville and they are responsible for his actions!! HE WAS BREAKING THE LAW!! Think about all of your excuses the next time you write a ticket to someone else!! Why should the community pardon you when you write others and show them their mistakes!! Stand up for yours when you make them too!! To the family may you get every dime you are due!!

So what your saying is, before the wreck he was doing the speed limit, accelerated to 82.9 to try to avoid her, then braked from 82.9 to 56 mph at impact? If he had enough time to accelerate from 45 to 82.9 and then brake from 82.9 to 56 mph wouldn't it have been easier to just brake from 45 mph and he would have miss her?. So unless he was already going at a high rate of speed (60 mph plus, or driving some kind of super accelerating vehicle) your story doesn't add up.

The fact is, they are both at fault, him for driving to fast, and her for being drunk and pulling out in front of him. And yes, I am a 26 year LMPD officer, and yes, he should have been fired.
