HOMICIDE is sending the five newest detectives to the two week homicide school at SPI this month... Some of the new detectives knew what they wanted and has some or all the classes you mentioned already in their first 3-5 years on the dept. So even though more needs to be done many "beat officers" have done what u ask...

Some of the problem comes from Co's that don't have enough training themselves. I mean we just had a Lt. promoted from Sgt. and the Sgt. list they got promoted off of is still active until March. So were they learning the job of Sgt. or studying to be a Lt.?? I think you should have to be a Sgt. for at least 5 years before being able to test for Lt.
