Questions.....Why hasnt the commonwealth pursued criminal action? If she intentionally lead false witness against against citizens, lied under oath, fabricated and distorted her arrests then she has obviously violated civil rights, where are the feds? Why did it take a year to fire her? This still smells. Such a black eye to the good officers working. Good riddence.

IM JUST AMAZED HOW ALL THE COMPLAINTS MADE TO HER CO'S WERE NEVER REPLY'D TO. THEY SHOULD ALSO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE. GUESS I WONT SEE THOSE PINK HANDCUFFS ON HER HIPS IN COURT (WHEN SHE SHOWED UP) ANYMORE.

HAS ANYONE SEEN AN INCREASE LATELY WITH "NOT GUILTY" VERDICTS?

This is a great example of the "stat issue". There are officers that are ridiculed and "moved around" because they have low stats. But ones such as Marlowe with "high stats" get praise. Until something like this (extreme example I know but it is what it is) Everyone knows that all the officers with "high stats" usually means they are making stuff up to get them.

In the last 3 months, the chief has fired Fanning, Jthunda and now Marlowe. A little house cleaning is always good.

I love all the people wanting the Sergeant demoted or reprimanded. We're all grown adults and we've all had the training. Everyone knows right from wrong and if you need your Sergeant looking over your shoulder and holding your hand then you won't make it as a Detective. She did shoddy work and she got caught. Most divisions have 8+ Detectives that handle hundreds of cases. It would take a separate team of Sergeants to review every casefile and their never ending changes.

I'M NOT DEFENDING HER IN ANYWAY, JUST WANT TO ASK SOMETHING ABOUT PART OF THE STORY. IT SAID NUMEROUS CASES DISMISSED BECAUSE THE POLICE OFFICER WASNT PRESENT. TRUE? OK THIS IS WHERE I HAVE A PROBLEM AND WOULD LIKE TO RUN SOMETHING BY YOU ALL. I HAVE 2 CASES (THAT I'M AWARE OF) THAT WERE INTERESTING TO ME AND COULDN'T WAIT TO GO TO COURT ON. I WAITED AND WAITED. NEVER GOT A SUBPONEA (I CAN NEVER SPELL THAT CORRECT) I CHECK COURTNET AND SEE THAT THAT THE CASE HAS BEEN DISMISSED WITH A STIP PROBABLE CAUSE. HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE WITHOUT MY INPUT? IS THIS LEGAL? 1 OTHER INCIDENT WHERE THE VICTIM HADN'T BEEN SUBPOENAED TO COURT AND THEY MADE A DEAL, IS THIS ALLOWED?

I find it totally hilarious that I have been told to do 'felony dismissal' forms on cases i was never subpoena'd on. On reason for dismissal I always write: NO CLUE. ask the dismissers and amenders (prosecutors).

bAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACKs !

Good Ole Boy and Kool Aid Drinker Ozzy Gibson will get everything under control, his legacy throughout his career has made him or put him where he's at today! It is so funny to watch him around the Chief and what an A%^ kisser he is. I would rather stay where im at than be a brown nose. If the Chief lets a fart he has to be there to smell it.

The reason criminal charges were declined is because a conviction would open City of Louisville, LMPD, and her Command Officers up to serious civil liabilites, which would open up the department to way too much scrutiny in regards to records. This way everyone else says; "See we clean our own house and do not tolrate our own who are bad..." She gets "turffed" and has to fend for herself, that is unless the FOP decides to try tand get her re-instated, which still makes the administration look good, because they will say "We are only doing this because the union took us to court..." Which then makes the rest of us "rank and file" look bad, because we look like we support the "Unions" efforts. Either way, we still may wind up looking like we are trying to "Thin Blue Line" someone, who we should all vocally declaring "I am glad they are gone."

Louisville, Ky. (WHAS11) - A Louisville metro police detective has been suspended after being involved in a deadly car crash.

Narcotics Detective James Adams has been suspended without pay for 30 days.

He was involved in a car crash that killed Sarah Bearden on May 22.

She was leaving a graduation party.

Toxicology reports came back that indicated that she'd been drinking and her blood alcohol was over the legal limit.

A letter from Police Chief Robert White says Adams was going in excess of 80 miles an hour on

Hurstbourne in a 45 mile an hour zone.

He was off duty at the time of the crash and will not be allowed to participate in the take-home car program.

A 30-day suspension is the maximum Adams could have gotten without being terminated.

Kill someone and get 30 days and lose your take Home Hilarious!!

Officer involved in fatal crash suspended

Louisville Metro Police officer who was speeding when he was involved in a fatal crash has been suspended for 30 days following an investigation into whether or not he violated department policy.

Detective James Adams was given a 30-day suspension, the strictest discipline short of being fired.

The suspension stems from a May 22 crash at North Hurstbourne Parkway and Headley Hill Road. As a result of the crash, 22-year-old Sarah Bearden was killed.

Adams, who was off-duty at the time of the accident, was found to have violated the department policy on speeding because it was determined that he had been going in excess of 80 mph in a 45 mph zone, according to his suspension letter released Tuesday.

"This violation warrants your termination, however I am mitigating your discipline due to the totality of the circumstances," White wrote in the letter.

Adams' attorney, Mary Sharp, said her client had been notified of the chief's intention to fire him, but a settlement was reached to give him a 30-day suspension.

"I personally feel that it's excessive," Sharp said of the suspension. "He is an outstanding officer and I think that was taken into consideration."

Sharp said part of the agreement is that Adams will not appeal the suspension to the Police Merit Board.

Initially following the accident, Adams was placed on paid administrative leave while the department's public integrity unit investigated. In November, a Jefferson grand jury declined to indict Adams on charges of manslaughter and assault.

Once the criminal investigation was complete, the case was turned over to the department's professional standards unit to review and determine whether Adams violated any departmental policies.

Documents released on the criminal investigation into the crash showed that Bearden had a blood alcohol contact of .131, higher than the .08 legal limit.

The report also showed that Adams was driving more than 80 mph in a 45 mph zone just before the crash occurred, according to information recorded by his unmarked police car.

Adams, who was hired in June 2000, has worked most recently in narcotics as a detective. His personnel file shows 31 commendations and two disciplinary reprimands for missing court and for losing his police-issued radio.

Metro Police officer under investigation

Posted: Jan 11, 2011 5:46 PM EST

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB Fox 41)--A Louisville police officer is being investigated after claims that he pulled a gun on two people at McDonald's.

Officer Derrick Leachman is on paid administrative leave and facing several charges including menacing, wanton endangerment and disorderly conduct.

It all stems from an incident at the McDonalds on 2nd and Broadway in downtown Louisville last February.

According a warrant in District court, Officer Leachman became "belligerent and began cursing" at a customer who "appeared to be mentally handicapped."

Two women got involved, asking him to stop cursing because there were children present and that's when things really got heated. The warrant says Officer Leachman called the woman a "fat b****"

The confrontation eventually escalated out here into the parking lot and that's when Officer Leachman allegedly pulled his gun on the women. Officer Leachman then allegedly waved the gun at the women and said "what are you b****** going to do now? Back the f*** up."

The women then called 911 and that's when Officer Leachman left the scene, but police tracked him down through his license plate. Meanwhile, Leachman's side of the story is much different, according to Louisville attorney Keith Kamenish. "We differ very much on what happened that day and we dispute some of the things that were said in those warrants," says Kamenish, who is representing Officer Leachman.

Kamenish says he is actually hoping to resolve the case before it sees the inside of a courtroom. "we have started down that avenue with the prosecutor and we hope to continue that and see if we can come to some sort of resolutions prior to the next pre-trial in a few weeks."

The case is now in district court, Officer Leachman is scheduled to be back in court next month for a pre-trial hearing.
