Exactly, on both sides of the fence most of the inside guys picked their buddies to help run the departments. Get the feeling that some people on here don't understand how those things went, but then again they have probably not been around but a few years and don't remember. The good ol boy system was strong before merger. There are some really good Majors on our department that take care of their people and let them work, mine being one of them. He is rough around the edges as most of us say, but he keeps us informed and lets us work. I also get the feeling that he is not into the buddy system, he just wants us to work and take care of each other. Can't tell how many times he has commented that he is temporary and someone else will come along better than he is, no ego or anything else from the guy. Just a continual asking of all of us to do our best for the people including us that live in this division.
