OK, I agree that is the case (although I am not a cop, I'm a state employee, and I too am expected to stop and assist since I drive a "marked car" - and would do so even in my personal car). However, if this is in fact the case, why in h*ll aren't you DOING SOMETHING about it. DOCUMENT IT, and grieve it, don't complain about it. IF YOU STOP AND CALL IT IN, and then get reprimanded for being late, GRIEVE IT. You have that option, and you even have attorneys that will help you with the process. But if you don't document it, how do you expect to win it? Call it in, get a number, and then insist on having a phone number you can call (Assef's or someone else's) that is recorded that you can call to report you will be late, and why. If you don't want to use your personal cell for it, insist on dispatch calling that number for you. GET IT ON RECORD. Then you can take the issue to the mat.

As for everyone else being late at court, I agree there too, but that's the system. But then, I think you guys are nuts for not arguing for a total revamp of the court system anyway.
