I was wondering when you might pop back in here with more words of wisdom and encouragement. By the way...... how's that aftertaste? A little bleachy ain't it.

I'm not a cop and I've worked odd shifts and had to come back in early in the morning and it sucks. And it REALLY sucks trying to get there on time and being lectured about clocking in a MINUTE late. Just because I'm not a cop and I've been through it doesn't mean I think the cops here are whining. It's a b---- of a thing to accomodate. The examples you gave were also things that happen intermittently whereas I know some cops work until 1, 2, 3 in the morning as their regular shift and EVERY SINGLE DAY they get up just a few hours later for court. Now THAT is not something to envy. And if it were me, I'd be b----ing too.

But really- my main gripe with your logic is the idea that griping about a stupid work policy is somehow exclusive to cops. You think all those professions you named are full of pious perfect people that never griped about a "one minute is late" policy? Don't kid yourself. You accuse cops of putting themselves on a pedestal, but you put everyone else on a pedestal and act like cops are the only ones who b---- about their job. We all, even in a crap economy, gripe about work stuff, BS policies, ridiculous management, etc. You come off extremely self-righteous.
