I agree, in simpler terms it is a moronic policy that is different from showing up for work late. The differences are huge. You are comparing apples to oranges in this matter. If I show up for work ie... roll call late that is one thing. If I don't clock in precisely before 9 am that is another thing entirely. Yes the subpoena says 9 am, yet in all my years of experience court has RARELEY EVER started on time. Each Judge has their own schedule and rules. If I am not there when the case is called then kick me in the butt.

Any LMPD officer that doesn't call off on everything is, to be honest, nuts. That's your record, guys, that you ARE doing what you are supposed to do, stop for motorist assist, etc. Because over the years you haven't been keeping track, you now don't have the paper trail to prove that most officers do stop to assist, etc. KEEP TRACK OF EVERYTHING YOU DO - it is your only protection.
