The only mistake you made in your post is saying that we are enriching the family of this guy. They won't be enriched. That money will be gone in 6 months, 12 months tops. I guarantee it. And it's not a race card I'm playing either. I've seen it happen on more than one occasion, with both white and black families.. Hell, even a family member of mine was awarded 50k in a lawsuit against the Catholic church and it was gone in a matter of 8 months and he was back on crack cocaine, homeless forced to live in a halfway house, and working a minimum wage job.

And I lied, you made a second mistake in your post. A taser IS NOT the police using DEADLY FORCE. This guy's actions, choices, and behavior prior to the incident led to his death as a consequence of being tased, a typically NON-lethal measure. People may not want to acknowledge that, but it's a fact. There's no gray area on the matter. But people like John Boel help keep these stereotypes alive, what with his pointed use of "...out of context..." in his story the other night. Now we've got citizens in this city believing police really tase people just for going the wrong way on an escalator or riding a bike w/ a flat tire. What a shame.

Yea this is total B.S. Officer's cant even do their job for crap like this. Take the tasers away and give the officer's a raise, we made it before without the taser and we can do it again.

Dont be late for court guy's!!! the subpoena say's 9am, and you cant be a minute late. I got a feeling there's not going to be many officer's making arrests or issuing citations. That will sure put a dent in the Attorney's pockets, the city, and the County Attorney's office, if you dont have people to prosecute then how can they justify their job. As soon as the City is not getting no revenue coming in from the officer's work, and these Attorney's arent making money off the crooks to defend, then you'll see them going crazy calling and complaining. It's just not worth it to me to have a subpoena and be late for court and wound up with Lt. Asseff coming after you with druel dripping down his mouth. As said before the ball is in the officer's court, if everyone play's on the same team and does the same thing. So lay down.

Where did you get that the Commonwealth's Attorney is involved? This is a civil case, which would be handled by the County Attorney's office (which replaced the old City Law Department) and which I suspect the city has farmed out to a private attorney buddy. If they would do as the law required, you are correct in that the expenses would only be the expert witnesses, though.
