Man wielding hammer shot and killed by police

Actually as a 15 year veteran of LMPD, now Metro, I can say with conviction that 12 years ago their were guys (and gals) showing up drunk at the 1st Division roll calls and made to "sit the desk". My former county co-worker tells a whole series of great and funny stories of a officer on the county who was such a drunk that he was sent home and ended up being fired and later died in his own vomit (ok the dead and dying part not so funny, but the storeis I cant print on here are friggin hilarious)... I am sure there are still a few of that type left, however I hope they stay the F$^ away from me.

As to the actions of the officers on this incident. I say this, You each did what was right at the moment, and you get to see your loved ones for another day. I have no problems with their having tried to give this poor ******* a chance to give up... I have a problem with the dumb son of a ***** not giving up and causing the officers to respond.

Those are my thoughts on the matter.
