I love trolls. They make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Hey troll - can I come at you with a hammer? You don't get anything but a baton and some OC. Guess who's gonna win that fight?

Some less violent trigger happy alternatives? You must not be able to read very well because they used a taser and pepperball gun before being forced to use deadly force. So listen up troll because this job is based off reaction. We don't go around looking for the fights but if the fights are brought to us you can bet the farm that we're going home to our families.

OK. First thing first, we are not trained to shoot for the legs, arms, fingers, or any other place besides center of mass (which is about 2 inches above the navel). So thats why the rounds landed in the abdomen and chest. We are trained to stop the threat, they accomplished it. The guy who slipped on the ice was already in a car when the subject re-emerged from his apt. so not hurt pride, sorry that is simply just a stupid snide comment. A person can span the distance of 21 feet in less than 2 seconds, so as far as the what could he do with a hammer? I'm just going to throw he could kill you with it out there, so that is why he had to be shot, YES, I SAID IT, HE HAD TO BE SHOT. He gave those officers no other choice, we don't meet deadly force with less leathal means. Maybe you should be asking his family why they didn't get him the help he needed for his illness. Or ask yourself why are you so jaded against the police, did you get a ticket? How about this go and apply for the police dept get hired and then ask those questions, I'll give you a hint, if you still have the same questions in a year or two of working they are probably written down on a peice of paper that someone you love is holding at your grave site because you died in the line of duty. But then again I bet you won't, or can't apply for whatever reasons one of which is probably lack of intestinal fortitude. Everyone of those officers would rather be at work and not on paid leave. They did the right thing and thier actions were justified, not one of those officers wanted to take that mans life but they did what they had to do to protect all the people this guy would of hurt. So bottom line you weren't there, you don't know how we are trained and what a hammer could do to to a skull (you could look it up online I'm sure).

Personally, I hope to God I never have to use my pistol on this job. I couldn't afford to be off work for 6 weeks without my off duty money! So, I'm pretty sure that those officers are feeling the financial pinch, considering how much we make doing God's work. We are the righteous hand of God!
