Mayor claims ignorance for $14 million in interest

It's funny how the media embraces its own investigative reports, covering every topic except for the corruption in the top office of our city. When they report anything about our Mayor, it's always on the heals of an accusation made by another person or group, and they always stop short of accusing the Mayor of any mismanagement, corruption, or poor decision making.

The media investigated Animal control, but ended the finger pointing with it's top administrator. No one questioned the Mayor that hired that administrator. Situations like that seem to occur fairly often in this city and the appointed officials in question, seem to be well disciplined cannon fodder.

Occasionally I'll catch a former local news anchor speaking on behalf of our Mayors office. I wonder how that happened? Did she loose her position with the local station and apply for a vacancy within our Mayors office, or is there a conflict of interest between the media and our Mayor, that goes beyond progressive idealism? The local media is on top of every ribbon cutting ceremony our Mayor attends,... but when mismanagement and/or corruption is apparent, they either have no desire to question the Mayor about it or his ignorance is blindly accepted.

"Perception is reality" is the propaganda of our local officials, and our local media seems more than happy to provide the platform for that illusion. If the media wont press Jerry while he or his appointed officials have their hands in the cookie jar, don?t expect them to air his dirty laundry during the Governor?s race.
