Mayor claims ignorance for $14 million in interest

I guess we won't get a lot of responses to this story, but I like the fact that we are willing to help someone out far away, but he is still a brother officer. I just sent a check for $25 to the bank address. I hope it helps

What would be the lesser of two evils?

Him being ignorant of running up $14 mil in interest at the taxpayer's cost, or, for what I believe would be the real reason, EVIL. And I use that description because of the impact on the ones involved, and his motivations.

I have a hard time accepting the notion ( I don't) that someone with his experience in goverment to be ignorant of the end result.

So you have two excuses. 1. Had no clue the bill was growing. 2. Wanted to get out of paying people what they were owed so he can spend that money on something else. ( cheating people out of thier pay and not even caring about what they have to go thru making a living)

So somebody please tell me, What's the difference in the excuses?

I feel one is no better than the other.

I ask, Is this what the people of Ky want in Frankfort?

How to politic if you are a democrat.............deny, deny, deny! Hey Jerry did you know we hired a paid intern to work in the police department with no background check...NO, Hey Jerry did you know that this intern was a basketball player for your deputy mayors son at K State...NO, Hey Jerry do you know that you owe the police money you stole from them and they you will be liable for interest and attorneys fees...NO, Hey Jerry heard a young man you might know well may be responsible for some criminal mischief at a local school...NO, Hey Jerry did you know that your director at Metro Animal Serv. was a dirt bag even before you hired him...NO, Hey Jerry did you make a sweet heart deal with the main guy for the teamsters to put a weak fight on nearly ever issue over the years and in return you would give him a managment job in metro when he left the teamsters...NO. Freckin Amazin....and good job local media for really cracking down on this guy!

The only thing more amazing than crooked liberals denying everything they do wrong, is that other liberals actually believe the crap. yay obamma-land. (now in corner cutting my eyes out with a dull spoon)

I have read all the comments posted so far, and let me give my opinion. You can play the political party blame game or you can take the high road and put the blame where it actually belongs, on the MAN HIMSELF. Jerry is an evil man who is nothing more than a crook in a suit. He has used his office to do exactly what crooked lawyers do, increase his bank account and that of his cronies. I do not believe that all Dems are bad, nor do I believe that all Reps & Ind are bad. Each individual person is responsible for his or her actions. Jerry is how he is because that is exactly what he is. He doesn't do anything without a tremendous amount of thought and scheming.

We need to stand up, and fight for the money that was deemed to be wrongly taken from us now! If we wait until the next administration is in, we may lose a great opportunity to hang Jerry out to dry on this. Please FOP, do what you know is right and get this ball rolling.

I say we get Ralph Nader in here for Mayor and get rid of Krapthorpe and bring in Jon Gruden!

What also isn't being talked about is the fact that the mayor's son was just charged with Wanton Endangerment Fist for shooting at poeple with a BB gun1

Check out the story on Wave 3's home page about the cuts coming from your agency. That needs to be posted....

I got word from a VERY reliable source that your agency has to cut $10 million, and we (your friendly folks at the jail) have to cut $3 million, just because of the lawsuit. I'm not mad at LFD one bit....I'm more than a bit irritated about the cuts, however. Why do our respective agencies have to suffer, because Jerry mismanaged this city?

Lets say that the city will improve after the mayor is gone, lets say that the department will be stronger after the chief is gone, lets say that after all the mismanagement this administration has done to our city it can return to glory. If you believe that the new Louisville is soon to start, then you had better start looking at the candidates running for metro office. We as a whole ( fire, ems, corrections, SO and LMPD) all need to come together and support the strongest candidate that will return our city to greatness. 7th most dangerous city for pedestrians, top 10 most obscene cities who's knows what else were are leading the pack in. The only thing "possible" about this city is how much they will screw with emergency services. When the campaigns go full force pay attention to the details and support someone who will support us and not be so crooked ( all politicians are to some degree crooks, its finding the one that wont steal so much they have to make their constituents pay).

I feel sorry for all of the state if this man is elected and does what he has done to louisville and does it to the whole state.

Elect a politician for the people, not someone who is fake and for themselves or a large company (C******)
