RE: Louisville appeals take-home car ruling
Or, it could just be that some folks care enough about their job to learn the statutes they enforce. Doesn't have be a a city/county thing, especially when your department is so young they have people still on probation getting day work slots. Hell, most of the patrol division is "Metro", and not city OR county.
I'd say that if you've been on for 20 years, and don't know what the cite is for someone who deliberately goes around a barricade, then the term ROD should fit quite nicely. Surely LPD put up a barricade or two prior to merger, right?
Your post just goes to show how divided the department really is, and why it's fricking miracle that Jerry lost this round. The department still fights over city/county, and in the meantime, these new folks have no allegiance to either side, and look at you like you're an idiot. It's also a great face to show the public. Keep in mind that this board is read by the general public, and the only thing that they should see is a united front. Not this LPD/JCPD bullcrap.

Problem is, right now, if an officer doesn't witness it, they can't cite for it. I'm working on language for a change for that right now.
