How would I begin to know that? I am only pointing out that you include incidents that are NOT strictly job related, and there are also job related deaths that are not in any way heroic. Just because a cop is the victim of a crime that ends in his death, doesnt automatically make him a hero. Just because a cop dies in a vehicular incident doesnt make it NOT line of duty.

you want to portray this as a clearcut defining line as to what is job related and line of duty and what is not. It isnt that simple. Are you really going to tell me that a cop working security, runs after a man bounced from a club, has a heart attack and dies after ONE city block, is line of duty? A cop that drops his gun, it discharges, and kills him, is THAT line of duty? Heroic? accidental?

No other occupation that I can think of, keeps track of such numbers on a yearly basis, and devotes websites to them like cops do. That is arrogance. No other occupation stretches the definition of words like hero, to fit their own.

Now, youre by far not the only occupation that demands changes from others, but refuses to change themselves, so I will give you that one, but no other occupation defines what is acceptable behavior, FOR THEMSELVES, but you.
