Jennifer, your post was both heartfelt, and greatly appreciated by a HUGE majority of us. Ignore the ones that feel they have to be A$$HOLES at a time like this. You hit the nail on the head through your entire post. I also love the fact the when crap hits the fan, we all pull together like one big team (family). Also don't worry, you did not offend anyone, some just have to be difficult. I'll be talking to ya!

Wow! I sure did not mean to upset you or anyone else with my post..perhaps I should clarify some things for you... When I said the part about putting yourself out, I mean if you put yourself out on a 10-99 and dont take the 20-30 seconds that it takes to just say whoever to radio i put myself out at whatever st/blah blah ave and i will say 10-4 and give you the time..that way your beat partner knows where you are and I know where you are...there are several officers out on lots of things and if u have put yourself out on a 10-99 without me ack you then it would take me a few seconds to find you on my screen when all that you can say is your car number and s"start me some cars" or when you dont call out at all then you need help and I have no idea at all where to send them.... it is a very BAD feeling to know that an officer needs help and I cant help them because they didnt tell me where they were. I didnt say a thing about you putting yourself on a run.... as for the contradicting myself, I dont wanna tell anyone how to do their jobs that was not my intent at all...and i really could care less if someone wants to talk to me on the radio, that has nothing to do with anything I said...I just want to make sure that I do my part in you or any other officer going home every night safe.....thats all!! Im sorry that you must be one of those officers that has had a run in with a dispatcher and that you think that we are all the same...be safe! jennifer
