RE: Firefighter?s Incentive Pay

I still dont see the issue with personal choice on this one. There are dozens and dozens, if not hundreds of officers who DON'Twork off duty. This is not an issue that I see as a reason officers have to "stick together on". Either you want to pay or you don't....You can save your money and actually make more than me and I will spend mine on my police car. Comparing the Fire incenctive problem to the take home car issue is apples and dog crap. All of the fire fighters were legally removed from the incentive program. They had ZERO CHOICE and ALL were not going to get the incentive money because the Mayor stopped paying it...It not like he gave them an option of receiving it or not. Also the Fire Unions agreed to tkae the OT clause out of the language. If one officer does not want to pay to keep his car, I am 100% fine with that, but by me keeping and paying for my car does NOT harm you or your pay and benfits in any way.....You can pay and keep your car. If everyone were to turn their car in, thae MAyoe is not going to say, "Well since you all stuck together I am giving them all back". If the Mayor or cheif said they were going to give all male officers a 5% raise and female officers a 2% raise, then that is an issue that we would stick together on and not take. If the Cheif said he was giving all officers over 6 feet tall new uniforms, guns, and 10 extra vacation days a year then were would collectively fight that. but I really don't see an issue on personal chocie on the cars.
