Yea, I salute them too. LF R is taking directs hits for the good of their future and the members of the department, I hope that we can do the same. Too all of you who are only thinking of themselves and your finances when it come to the car issue you better think again. The decisions you make now will have far reaching reprocutions as to how you are treated by this idiot mayor and his administration. As long as he keeps you beat down the more he is going to take from you. TAKE A STAND NOW!!!

"conscience and principals."

Just to bring this to your attention yet again, the mayor is not the only one lacking these two qualities. Ill now sit back for a few moments and let the childish name calling resume on your behalf.

You know the sickening thing about this? There are alot of officers that feel they aren't doing anything wrong by keeping the cars. They have no hint of the urge of standing up for the right thing. Heck, there is even a married couple (both Lt.s) that are making the comments that they will be keeping thier cars.

I don't know what the answer is, but we have problems.

Everyone see Chris T.'s point of view on Fox41. I wish he would bring up Driskells new job and all this other stuff.

If my math is correct abramson made them take about a 12% pay cut by elimiminating their incentive pay. How typical of him to say they would only be giving up a small portion of their rasie. People need to call his office every day and complain about this.

He wants to say everything is jsut peachy now that he is going to get some Obama bucks. Remember that things went downhill over the last 6 years of merger every year because of abramson and his foolish spending.

I just watched Chris Theineman's Point of View on Fox and all I can say is "Outstanding". He was very well spoken and to the point. He spoke nothing but the truth about te shady dealings in Metro Hall. Hopefully a few people will watch that clip and get a better understanding of what our tax dollars are going to.

Re :todays courier journal

March 15th, 2009 @ 4:03PM (15 years ago)

Well it seems the courier journal is doing articles that point fingers at lmpd. seems they think its the fault some criminals are getting off due to officers not showing up at court dates. Maybe they are wanting some of the focus off the mayor? I am just about to cancell my courier journal due to this . Why don't they write about the real problems in jefferson county? Start with the mayor. While i am on my soap box. why are we having thunder over louisville when we are in such debt?????

CJ: Cops dont go to Court

March 16th, 2009 @ 2:31PM (15 years ago)

First lets us ponder as to the timing of this three part series the CJ is doing, could iy be the bill sitting on the Governors desk? could it be the up coming decision about them charging for our cars? or could it be ( most likely) that the Mayor pulled some strings as to sway the people of our town to dislike the people of both departments. The MAyor has ahd little publicity lately, lying low in waits from the labor board...my thoughts he feels that we are more than likely goin to win so....this comes out.

Second, the citizens to this community do not think that what you have read is the 100% truth because it is not. Sure there may be the 1-10% of the 1100 + officers not attending court but is that always thier fault...more than likely not. Too often do we not get subpeonas at all, recieve them after the court date or put in for a continuonce because of scheduling conflicts ( schools, vacations, sick etc.) It IS our jobs to put people into jail for their crimes it is the court system's duty to send them to prison, to put ALL the blame for all those cases stated is irresponsible and is showing these articles are nothing but slanderous pointing of the finger to the officers who go to court everyday they recieve a subpeona or are called by the prosecutor by email or phone to appear. Every career has people whom are lazy or just dont care add in the fact your boss dosent care about you, the clients you work for dont care about you, you never recieve a fair raise, you have to pay to drive their car to work in, never are "off duty" and you have to deal with the negative aspects of human behavior on a daily basis and see what kind of results you would have.

Third, To the officers I propose the following: 1. For those of you who dont want to go to court, make your runs and let the new guys on your beat take the arrests, STOP LOCKING people up. 2. Stop dismissing anything, go to trial on everything or send it all to the grand jury and up to circuit court. Make everyone who has been cited for traffic offenses pay what the should stop dismissing the case. Have the prosecutor write officer objects to dismissal on every case they want to dismiss. 3. Start writitng every person you stop write a traffic citation for or every person you can arrest for a misdemeanor no matter what it is arrest them. 4. Act as a professional police officer that you are, and do the letter of the law. 5. Finally...if you dont want to do these, NO special treatment for news, CJ staff or memebers of the community that have voiced thier hatred toward the police: If they can be cited or arrested for anything DO IT, just because they are in the public eye dosent mean we have to show any favortism.

Be professional, obey the laws and policies and start doing our jobs.

How much tax payer money is wasted when a judge continues a case for his buddy, the defense attorney, because the thug has not paid him yet? Hundreds and hundreds, so this will stop and don't think for a minute I will not have a digital recorder going everytime I am in a conference. I already have tapes of a couple of judges asking for favors because their friend got a DUI...........I may not have gone to law school but I am not as stupid as those "f's"

It seems almost half a million dollars from the "stimulus" plan Jerry is getting, will be going to provide Taser cameras for you folks. Hadn't heard anyone ******** about it yet, so I figured you didn't know. Have fun with those things...

vomiting due to dictators

March 17th, 2009 @ 1:16PM (15 years ago)

If dirty Jerry got these taser cameras for only 300 bucks a piece (assuming quite a bit more), it would cost $336,000.00 WTF? we still don't have an air unit or, enough K-9's, or people, or apparently money for cars, and we are screwing over everybody and their family on furlough days, and buying this crap won't create any jobs for the people of Louisville !!!!!! Stimulus money is supposed to stimulate something right????????/ WTF? I am sure the folks in Scottsdale, AZ will be stimulated though (where Taser Intl. is headquartered from). And what's wrong with the tools we already have??? By the way, there is an auction going on in Kentucy today - up for bid is a red and blue NOTAR (no tail rotor) police helicopter! NOT KIDDING. wonder where that came from??????????

thanks Jerry - (should we say Adolf Abramson or Jerry Hitler? I like the latter)

I'm quite new to this area and am only fairly familiar with the debacle currently occuring between the mayor and the FOP (and apparently many other entities within the city). Can anyone enlighten me to whether this option has been considered?>

Let the police keep the take-home cars for the price of $0 and install a policy that prohibits any "personal/non-work related vehicle use" until the finances once again become steady (20XX?).

These fleet vehicles begin to fall apart at about 75k miles (if not earlier) when they are utilyzed in a pool-fashion. ONE take home assigned to ONE officer will easily last to 120k miles (if not longer). You don't even need to do the math on the above figure, its common sense. I will also concur that the take-home program is in fact a proven crime deterrent. If officers were living in half-million dollar home neighborhoods, I can see that argument being thwarted; the fact of the matter is that a majority of police don't make enough money to live in the aforementioned neighborhoods>but in lower to upper middle class neighborhoods where statistically speaking, more crime would occur. I've read citizens complaining in regards to seeing officers driving city vehicles for personal use; however, if I were an employee at a company where I was underpaid/underappreciated, you better believe I'd drive the company car everywhere I was allowed to if I were being charged $1200 a year.

Back to the matter at hand-it appears that the mayor's mentality is in the "here and now" rather than the thinking of long-term benefits/consequences. As a mayor, he should be a skilled chess player rather than a subpar checkers player. Again, I am only slightly familiar with the current situations as I am a concerned new citizen (that is hoping that moving to Louisville was not a mistake :-/). Is this the common sentiment amongst other citizens (not employed with Metro)?

Firefighter?s Incentive Pay

March 18th, 2009 @ 5:04PM (15 years ago)

Let us ask a important question here, where has all the money going to go that we get from Obama? I saw in the paper today 1.8mill earmarked going to Cordish WTF? The City not a private company need the money, ( 20 mill shortfall ) , jobs created and jobs kept. This mayor has done little to entice new businesses to come to louisville or keep local businesses afloat. With " so much" of the 20 mill shortfall coming from occupational taxes you'd think that would be more imortant than new bike trails, sidewalks or curbing ( CJ couple of days ago). The people that work for this government have been getting a size 12 up the rear since the Mayor for life has been in office, but this year we have taken the whole leg. Why are all the unions and FOP not making more of a statement? Something must be shown to the public what this Mayor is doing with their money ( ours too). Whats up with the CJ bashing the police, then printing all those comments from citizens about the articles today, WTF? Why is this administartion so hell bent on making everyone suffer that's beneath the higher archy, they wont be in office or appointments forever? I believe that the parties need to start building candidates that will do what is BEST for this community and take it back to what it was premerger for the next election. What is this I hear about RW possibly leaving after derby?

Just some things to think about?
