Contempt of Court |
RE: Contempt of Court
What are you implying? People that don't are ignorant, unworldly and narrow minded.
I have nothing against the arts, but I don't go there either, what does that make me.
And I'm not the grunt.

RE: Contempt of Court
Ah, the arts. Or should that be The Arts! To my way of thinking, if an "artist" needs support from the government, then maybe he (or she!!) should re-evaluate his or her chosen line of work. If in fact it is *art* and appeals to a sufficent number of people, the people will cheerfully pay to see hear, read, smell or whatever the Art is. If there is not a sufficent number of people interested in what the "artist" has to offer, he or she needs to take his or her art somewhere else where there is a bigger appetite for that particular type of *art* While I personally have nothing against the Louisville Ballet, Louisville Orchestra, Louisville Symphony, The Louisville Barber Shop Quartet for the love of Pete, if these organizations have to rely on the taxpayer (thats ME!!) then there is a problem. I think it should be pretty obvious that the people who want something should pay for it. I personally enjoy , uh hm, the Performing Dance Clubs on 7th street and various areas around this fine city; you never see their owners or performers asking for a government handout. That is because they are offering something that our citizens *WANT* and will pay for. The fact that ballet, orchestra, etc cannot self fund in Louisville should make a pretty obvious statement.
