Continuing the Battle

I know at least a half dozen road rat Lexington cops, they are all pretty content there. No agency is perfect, as officers who HAVE retired and/or moved on to other agencies will tell you - it's just a matter of what is important to you. Many at the guys at the sheriff's office are bored beyond silly - but they are OK with that. (Those that aren't, leave.) Small city agencies involve a lot of politicis (with a small p) - many require you to interview with the whole city council, for example. In most, the mayor knows every cop by name and description, and constituents complain directly TO said mayor.

It's just a matter of picking your poison.
