Youre describing a long gone past of the trucking industry.

You can find eferences to the statistics involving trucks based upon federally funded studies at Virginia Tech from 2006 that countrasts your statements.

Ill list a few.

1986-2006 is the dates covered in this survey

41% increase in registered large trucks, and 84% increase in miles traveled.

Trucks involved in fatal crashes went down by 5% while large trucks IN fatal crashes down by 41%

past decade alone large truck fatality rate down 14%

2 separate studies done by the USDOT showed that 78% of crashes were caused by passenger cars.

AAA says that 80% of crashes caused by passenger cars.

passenger cars 2 1/2 times more likely to rearend truck than truck rearend car

passenger car 10 times more likely to cause headon with truck,by crossing the center line than the reverse.

latest violation rate for random drug testing is .1 percent.

Alcohol involvement in truck accidents has dropped by 80% over past 20 years

FMSCA estimates driver fatigue only issue in 8% of accidents

truckers less likely to have previous license suspension than passenger car drivers.

Now, why dont you take the time to post PROPER statistics from a credible source and identify it.

With all the testing that is done in the trucking industry, what you claim is just not possible. Luckily for people like you, and certainly not all, being a cop doesnt require an IQ test, because I doubt you would have made it.
