New police fees prompt racing events to be canceled

you have lost your mind......If we did things like the old county, we would still have free insurance, two helicopters, good moral and an FOP with a set of nutz....Not to mention every other weekend off, get paid a fat x-mas check from our holidays... The right to chase a criminal instead of tucking our tails between our legs and terminating a pursut. DO I REALLY NEED TO GO ON????? Get over the city-county thing! Were all one family now. The problem is that they took the worst of both departments and made LMPD. Instead of taking the best of both things....

You Sir or Madam are an idiot. The Command Staf is not all former County and even if it was it would have nothing to do with this. Look at the underlying cause of why this was done before you make a statement like this. The pollice department has a budget. The big headed mayor controls the budget. He isn't going to give us an extra dime for anything. He has hocked everything we own, he has charged us for our cars and he owes 60 millionto the firefighters which incidently he could have taken care of back in 1996 for less than 10 million dollars but because he is so arrogant he would rather put off doing the right thing and worry (or not) about it later. It is the democratic thing.

Don't try to drive a wedge. We have both good and bad former Ciyt and County. I am former city and have seen some really good things that were done the "County way" and we have gotten a pretty good blend of things. Not everything unfortunately has worked out to your specifications, but alas if you were the Chief I am sure things would all be different.
