Louisville is always two decades behind everyone else. I AGREE 100%%%% with the fees being charged! IT'S ABOUT TIME!

Hear me out on this one...

Since it is all about stats these days, maybe the bosses could "force" more officers to write "soccer mom tickets" to produce stats. That would generate more funds for "staffing concerns". Additionally, we could even get mayor jerry to tell the community why this was a good idea and fiscally "necessary". The media would play it up as brilliant public official just being brilliant. After jerry's claims, we could probably even have a box placed on the violator's Ticket Instruction Sheets so that the "victims" of this stat race could decide which charity they wanted to most support. A portion of the proceeds could then be applied to their choice of a charity walk, insurance premiums for FOP plans, a potical group, a caucus to change a roadway's name to reflect current racial deomographics, more granite curbing downtown, the local FOP, or other things of similar concern. We might even be able to adequately fund the ignorance of the Arena Project too if enough folks chose that option. What a thought!

Secondly, perhaps we shouldn't waste anymore money on expensive computer software that only complicates the work day and definitely keeps officers from effectively patrolling taxpayer neighborhoods. After all, a paper report took about 10 minutes at most prior to ILEADS. While our eyes are focused on software screens and our ears are focused on technical support phones to repair some issue, we can NOT focus on crime. At a reported price of $2.5 Million, it seems wrong for reporting to take even more time. That makes no sense to me, the one actually trying to explain to victims why officers are less often seen in these neighborhoods.

I realize that change is inevitable in any profession, but the most common changes observed around here are unfavorable at best...More Stats Required, Lower Officer Morale, More Computer Stuff in Cruisers (and the associated calls to technical support to fix them), and High Numbers Leaving Prior to the 20 Year mark.

Under this administration, it seems obvious that it is going to become even more difficult to stand up for those taxpayers that we swore to protect. Remember our oath, and do the next right thing. We are the last line of defense over ignorance, either external or internal.

Maybe a road needs to be shut down for a longer race, but is there any reason why they have to shut down roads for every single 5k run/walk in this city? They already have several parks to pick from. They could even use the Riverwalk. There are too few police to even do proactive patrolling or do good investigations. LMPD has gone totally reactive like the old County department always was. I wonder why.

I just remembered why, it's because of the ex-county command staff and a guy hand-picked by Marion Barry.

SINCE IT HAS NOT BEEN POSTED HERE , I WANT TO BRING UP AN ARTICLE IN THE COMMUNIST JOURNAL IN TODAYS PAPER. THE ARTICLE, BY P.O.S. AND SPINELESS WRITER WOLFSON, TAKES THE OPPORTUNITY TO SLAM A DEAD POLICE CHIEF WHO WAS INVOLVED WITH CORRUPTION DURING HIS TENURE. ALTHOUGH I ABSOLUTELY ABHORE HIS BEHAVIOR DURING THOSE YEARS, I WONDER WHY SPINELESS WOLFSON DOESNT TAKE THE SAME OPPORTUNITY TO SLAM DEAD DRUG DEALERS AND CRIMINALS WHO EQUALLY HAVE (HAD-OOPS) AN ADVERSE EFFECT ON OUR COMMUNITY. MR. WOLFSON YOU ARE OBVIOUSLY PREJUDICE TOWARDS THE POLICE AND A MAJOR P.O.S. AS WELL AS A COWARD WHO STANDS BEHIND A WORTHLESS PAPER ENDORSED BY THE MAYOR. TODAY I OFFICIALLY CANCELLED MY SUBSCRIPTION TO YOUR ONE SIDED AND BIASED PAPER. I ASURE YOU WOLFSON, IF YOU SIMPLE SEARCH ALITTLE FURTHER, YOU WILL FIND NOTEABLE NEWS STORIES UNCOMMON TO THE ROOKIE-LIKE ONE-SIDED ARTICLES YOU PROVIDE. DID YOU REALIZE THE MAYOR IS VIOLATING A CONTRACT HE SIGNED WITH THE FOP CONCERNING HEALTH INSURANCE OPTIONS? WOW, WHAT A STORY, ESPECIALLY SINCE NO ONE ELSE IN THE MEDIA WANTS TO REALLY FOLLOW AND REPORT ON IT. THIS ISNT HIGH SCHOOL ANYMORE, GROW UP AND UNBIASEDLY PARTICIPATE IN THE MEDIA. JOIN BILL LAMB, HE CAN GIVE YOU SOME POINTERS.

It is amazing that Riggs is such a good steward of tax dollars but when his aunt (who ran the Crusade for Children) wants free traffic control she gets it. Maybe we should have not spent money hiring one of the deputy mayors sons roommate as a paid intern last summer. Just thought we could be better stewards.....
