Get over yourself you arogant azzhole.... Great job to the dispatcher.....

Part of the team?!

You know what? I DO consider myself part of the team. I have done things behind the scenes for my guys that I'm sure they never knew could be done, and I KNOW they appreciate me. Several of my "guys" make it a point DAILY to come into Radio and tell us thanks, and that goes a long way. If you don't like you Dispatchers, that's all fine and dandy. Just remember, we are are on the same team, for the same purpose. I'm not going to tell you your point of view is incorrect. I will tell you this though: EVERYONE deserves a little credit and a pat on the back once in awhile. I thought it very rude and inconsiderate for you to point out that you didn't get the credit you deserve. Don't take someone's glory away. That may be all they have. How do you know that Dispatcher/call taker wasn't ready to give up? How do you if he or she was or wasn't so burnt out, that they were considering finding a new profession. How do you know? You don't. Maybe that call, and that recognition, changed her mind.

You don't know these things. Not everyone gets the credit they deserve for anything they do in life, all the time. I know you don't. I know the Dispatchers don't. But don't try to take it away from someone once given. Don't make OUR profession sound less important than yours, because it's not. If YOU don't like the fact that WE are on the same team, maybe you should consider finding a new team yourself.

I'm not making this a "cop" vs. "dispatcher" argument. I'm simply stating, give credit where credit is due. Just because you didn't yours. And EMS didn't get theirs...

And why don't you try telling your dispatchers and calltakers thanks once in awhile. You'd be amazed at the positive, and sometimes shocked response you'll get!
