Two men killed in separate incidents overnight |
RE: Two men killed in separate incidents overnight
In 2004, they counted McKenzie Mattingly's shooting of Michael Newby as the first homicide of that year even after his acquittal which would mean it was in-fact a justified shooting.
RE: Two men killed in separate incidents overnight
I happen to think WHAS pulled a typical "vague articulation" to make it sound as if LMPD conceals certain things from the public, which is crap. What they really meant to say (if they bothered with facts) is the homicide count doesn't include something like a fatal accident where a drunk was charged w/ being responsible. They can't clearly count that in a homicide # because all that crap goes to trial to even be designated homicide to begin with blah blah etc etc.
then there's the issue of the bellarmine b**** who (allegedly) killed her baby. do they count that or not? I don't think that they can because it's not clear that a homicide was committed (not legally, and everyone pity's the poor little idiot)
as far as justifiable homicide and your "right" to know, don't even act as if your neighbor shooting an intruder in self defense wouldn't make the news. Are you kidding? Cue the dramatic tease clip; they eat that sh-t up, so I'm pretty sure you'd have no problem staying well informed.

RE: Two men killed in separate incidents overnight
If your neighbor had to kill someone to protect them from criminals trying to rob or harm them, then that would not constitute a murder. It would be a homocide, because anytime someone kills another person for one reason or another that is homocide. To be a murder, the act must be a crime, and not self protection.
