ACLU criticizes LMPD tazer use |
RE: ACLU criticizes LMPD tazer use
It is, to be honest, a bit problematical for the agency to be too supportive of an officer in a particular incident, since that suggests that the agency won't do a full, and thorough, investigation. It would be different if LMPD would requst other agencies do such investigations, but ... we don't. If they are too supportive, as Sherrard was with Luckett and O'Neil, the feds are likely to come in and do an investigation, because judging before the investigation indicates that we aren't doing a fair and unbiased investigation, and no one wants that.
On the other hand, there is nothing wrong with the agency defending the use of such tools when not connected to a specific incident.

I'm fairly positive that I just giggled... walk up and nicely ask them to stop. hahaha. I think I might use this tactic in the future ;) (of course then the media would say I was being condescending because I have a God complex because I wear a badge-- and the circle of idiocy continues)
