Louisville police settle harassment claims by 2 officers

 I dont want to hear anyone else on here whine or cry because we get to use our cars while we're off duty.  You can sit there on you high horse and complain about arrogant officers all day, but until you walk a mile in our shoes you cant say a word.  Sure there are some of us that might be a little rude or arrogant, but how many of us have made a run and been treated like crap just because we're the Po-lice?  Until you see how the public treats us...shut it.  Now with that being said, we did sign up for this and we are okay with it.  Just dont criticize until you see it through our eyes.  Back to the car usage.  When was the last time you had someone come running up to your car screaming and acting hysterical because someone is in trouble.  It has happened to me more than once, and sometimes with my family with me.  When was the last time you were a target for some crazy person just because of the car you drive?  That is the risk we take driving our car, on and off duty.  A constant target is what we are.  So if I get to use my car to run to the store and potentially help someone who needs it, and I dont have to pay for the gas...guess what I might have freed up a beat car who can worry about keeping your neighborhood safe.

People can complain about police being arrogant all they want, like the regular citizen is such a dream to work with, but what it will come down to is fewer visible police on the streets which leads to ....guess what....more crime. We are already working with too few police on duty, let alone taking away the visible ones off duty.
