2008 Contract Passes

Mr. Retired (notice I spelled it correctly) I for one have been on the board probably during your tenure on the department. I too was with LPD and I have heard your type of complaining my whole career. You are the type of guy or girl that never comes to meetings and complains about everything. You are the guy that spouts off about things he knows nothing about. You are the guy that never went to labor training seminars, contract schools or conferences to learn about things like legal defense, officer issues that affect us and ways to resolve issues that have worked in other parts of the country.

By the way, while I was at those conferences I received a standard per diem which by golly I spent on food every night. If someone had a hospitality room at the conference and served free beer well by God I drank some of it. Get off your high horse and quit whining. Over the years I volunteered and worked numerous events for nothing. I show up at Kosair every year...how about you?

I agree with the retired lpd officer, this "social club" is not doing anything for many current lmpd members. If it was not for the legal defense I would take it elseware.

If you think pension benefits are secure, talk to your colleagues in Lexington, who are not part of the state pension system.

And the Social Security issue is an odd one, I suspect that those folks who reaped more income early because they weren't paying Social Security will regret it in the future. It may not be much, but is is something.
