White not chosen for Chicago post, will remain in Louisville

Jerry is crying poor mouth right now because he couldn't raid the Library fund for the 16 million because he actually thought he could pull the wool over the taxpayers eyes once again and get the library tax passed.

Why not better support the library system? Louisville is regarded as having the worst library system of just about any major city. Since education is known to reduce crime (which would make policing easier and quality of life better), I say put some more money in the libraries', and school system's, coffers.

I have a question that I hope someone on this wite can legitimately answer. I keep seeing references of White's pension - is he, or is he not, in the regular, state pension system? If so, than of course, yes, he is vested at five years and will draw what he is entitled to draw. Or, does he have something different, something funded by the city?

I'm confused about "sweetening the pot" - Chicago DID NOT SELECT HIM. He did not withdraw his name, I presume he wanted the job. Why would Abramson have to give him anything at all - to try to get him to not apply for another job?

Other than not having a real Street crimes or fugitive type unit that here hear about or see on every real life police show. I don't have any real problem with Chief White. Everyone pours ******** on him, but I just don't see it. I come to work today and Police the exact same way today as I did a decade ago. "directed patrol" is no different that a good beat copper should be doing anyway and if you're a good beat copper than you should be getting plenty of stats to make yourself happy and the bosses too. If you're a slug and you had your job and don't like to work, then the heck with you anyway, no Chief will make you happy.
